Should I complain that my rent check wasn't deposited till the 16th? It was due by the first of the month and I personally would appreciate a little more expediency in the matter for budgeting purposes. What do you feel I should reasonably expect?
In another matter, some of you may know I am looking for a mountain bike. What would you guys think is the best way, or which way would you personally prefer to transport it if you had a Taurus SHO?
.
.
- Hitch Rack (I like this option, possibly pricey though?)
- Roof Rack (meh, I think)
- Fold down seats and shove it in from the back (lol) (trunk is positively cavernous)
- Get some side wheels and tow it (this may be unsafe? :P)
- Any other suggestions?

So I just went to the LBS, test road a couple Raleigh's they had, I think in the 500-600 dollar range. The 29er had XCT shocks (Raleigh Talus) and the 27.5 had XCR. But what did I notice most in my short ride? The handle bars seem super-damn-wide. I'm already brushing trees here and there with the 26 I've been riding, I'd have to be even more careful on these bikes.
Also, I was NOT impressed with the components on these bikes, for the money, I may as well pick up a $400 bike on Bikes Direct.

theres ur problem....
Raleigh, once upon a time, used to make great bikes. now, they are the walmart special. why you are even considering them, IDK.

I went to a bike shop and that's the direction the dude pointed me in. I was surprised, since I hadn't heard a peep out of Raleigh anywhere throughout my research. I'm going to go ahead and ignore them then, haha.
The bike looked like shit too, it was green, all over, I hated it, I want a mostly black or mostly white bike.
I'm thinking of just jumping on something from BD and once I notice I am hitting the limit on some component or other I will upgrade, most likely shocks will be the first to be upgraded.

if you KNOW the shocks are first to be upgraded, just buy a bike with them already on it. it saves time and a bit of money.
if you buy shitty bike A, and then throw (lets say) 500$ at it for a good shock, then ur @ retail for shitty bike A and the fork.
if you buy good bike B for $500 more then shitty bike A, then ur @ the retail of shitty bike A and the fork, but now u have a much better overall package as well (the drive train/brakes/wheels/frame will be a better system as well.)

The problem is, I am also looking at about $1200-$1400 worth of upgrades to my car right now, so I just dont have the budget to go $200-$300 higher in budget for an MTB at the moment.
I did read at one point that Suntour does a trade in program to upgrade to nicer shocks of theirs. Which would be cool, because who wants to buy a used XCT fork?
At my budget I can get a 24spd, with hydraulic brakes and an XCT fork. Not ideal, but leaps and bounds better than what I am currently taking to the trail.

ehhh, id hold off on the car upgrades just a little longer and get the proper bike.
then again, I just sunk 1600$ into my motorcycle for suspension upgrades, so what do I know? (granted, I already have the nice bikes)
I didnt know about the suntour thing...I'll have to look that up.

I saw it on a message board and this guy posted his email address there to contact him about the trade-in deal. I saw it on mtbr.com
Ah! Here's the program, do they look like good deals?

yea, the cheap one does at any rate. 200$ for an air fork? wow. (then again, we arent looking @ fox stuff, so I dont know why its surprizing me)

Sheezzz it's only a $10 savings vs buying it at chainreaction. But I guess $10=$10...

well, I dont know if the SR ones is a refurb fork or a new one...but I know the CRC one is new.

Right on, $10 won't break the bank, haha.
Do you bring your phone along on trips to track your route?

nope. I know ppl how do, but i just see it as a chance of me to crash and break my phone. the only things i've ever had mounted on my bike were a headlight for a 24hour race and a go-pro.
